Same Level Licensure (SLL)
Welcome to the online renewal for Same Level Licensure.
What is the Same Level Licensure?
Same Level Licensure online renewal is for those educators (teachers, administrators, instructional support providers including educational assistants and substitutes) who are currently licensed at either level 2 or level 3 and whose license is about to expire or will expire in the next year or two.
These individuals must be currently employed by a public school district, charter school, private school, BIE school or non-public school. The current supervisor or the district administrator who is a registered administrator within the Vision Link system must complete the administrator portion of the process indicating that the individual is meeting the licensure competencies and that the person has provided the school or district with the proper Board license, if that is required for the particular license.
What is the process of renewing your Same Level Licensure online?
- In order to use this electronic system for renewal of licensure at the same level you must have an email account and currently be employed in a New Mexico school. If you meet these requirements please click here.
- If you are not currently employed in a New Mexico school you must complete a paper application for continuing licensure to the Public Education Department. Please click here to obtain this information.
- If your license is expired (expiration date is more than one year old) you will need to complete the paper application mentioned above. Please click here to obtain this information.
This online process will not work for those individuals who have let their license lapse ( it is now after the expiration date), who are currently at level 1 or who are not currently employed in a position within a New Mexico school or district. Those individuals will need to download the paper application from the PED website: www.ped.state.nm.us and follow the directions as indicated.
