The band Red Hot Chili Peppers, better known by their screen name RHCP, experienced its ups and downs but persevered. It will soon be honored historically with a “Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

I bought nearly four RHCP concert t-shirts since I’m an 80s child. Do you know why RHCP is the most popular band in alternative rock history? Well, you would know the answer if you paid attention to them.

With so many successes, the six-time Grammy Award winner remains a timeless rock band. RHCP was previously enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will now be unveiled.

Interestingly, despite being chosen for this honor in 2008 and having a hectic schedule, the Under the Bridge rockers never said when they would accept it. In 2022, RHCP will finally arrive to receive their honor.

On March 31, 2022, a remembrance event will be held. On, the ceremony will be streamed live. “Our Hometown lads are finally coming to get their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said.

“We are happy to welcome them to our Walk of Fame family,” she continued. “We have been waiting for them to break away from their hectic schedules to dedicate their star.” Why not, then? Finally earning the well-deserved recognition is the four-decade-old band.

The By the Way stars will be assisted in unveiling their star by actors Woody Harrelson, Thelonius Monster (Frontman), funk musician George Clinton, and addiction specialist Bob Forrest. This 2,717th star will be located at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard in the second row, next to the stars of Amoeba Records and TV producer Harry Friedman.

In 1983, RHCP was established in Los Angeles. Anthony Kiedis, guitarist Hillel Slovak, Flea, and legendary drummer Jack Irons made up the original lineup of the band. Slovak and Iron did not play on their debut album, so their second album, “Freaky Styley,” was their first record together.

Irons departed, though, after Slovak passed away from a heroin overdose. The band’s new members, Frusciante, assisted in getting the group back on its feet. They recorded “Mother’s Milk” in 1989 and “Blood Sugar Sex Magik,” which became their first commercial triumph, in 1991.
The most popular album, Californication, sold more than 16 million copies worldwide. Josh Klinghoffer later took Frusciante’s spot, but Frusciante returned in 2019.The Red Hot Chili Peppers are still performing. Just after the Walk of Fame celebration, the band announced that their 12th album, “Unlimited Love,” will be released. It features guitarist John Frusciante back with the group and was produced by Rick Rubin.

On April 1, 2022, the album will be made available. Following the release of “Unlimited Love,” the band will embark on a globe tour, where they’ll be joined by notable musicians including A$AP Rocky, Thundercat, Beck, Anderson Paak, St. Vincent, and many others.
The voyage of RHCP has been nothing short of a wild ride. Despite numerous controversies, the band has produced some timeless tunes. Raise your hands if you’re also a fan of the RHCP and tell me what you think about them being honored.
